I wouldn't mind being only a soul, but I need a physical form to interact with the world. Which is something I still want to do. I would be happy with a body, I'm sure, just not the one I have. It's horrible that the only body we get is hardly customizable in any meaningful way. If anyone could choose any form I doubt there would be many humans left.

i really doubt that, imo the vast majority of people would remain the human except more like caricatures of their gender.
and even in the tiny amount of cases where people would get non-human parts on them, they'd stop with things like dog ears or a tail.
